The company’s latest expansion programme stretches across Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand and selected Pacific island destinations, with a strong emphasis on business travel, leisure tourism, meetings and events, and the increasingly lucrative extended-stay accommodation sector. Positioned at the heart of this Hotel News report, the strategy demonstrates how Radisson Hotel Group continues to strengthen partnerships while responding to evolving travel trends throughout Asia Pacific. The expansion also underlines growing investor confidence in hospitality markets that continue to benefit from rising international arrivals, improving connectivity and increasing demand for quality accommodation.

Tailored Development Strategy Driving Growth

Rather than adopting a one-size-fits-all model, Radisson Hotel Group has continued to pursue a market-specific development strategy designed to match each brand with local market conditions and owner expectations. The approach allows the company to respond to changing guest preferences while delivering flexible development opportunities across luxury, upscale, lifestyle, serviced apartment and resort segments.

Ramzy Fenionos, Chief Development Officer for Asia Pacific at Radisson Hotel Group, said Southeast Asia and the wider Pacific continue to offer significant long-term growth opportunities, provided developments remain relevant to local markets. He noted that hotel owners increasingly seek internationally recognized brands backed by strong commercial expertise, operational excellence and adaptable business models capable of responding to changing consumer behavior.

According to the Group, recent hotel openings and newly signed agreements demonstrate its commitment to collaborating with both established and new development partners to create distinctive hospitality experiences tailored to individual destinations while delivering sustainable long-term returns.

Vietnam Continues to Lead Regional Expansion

Vietnam remains one of Radisson Hotel Group’s most important growth markets, supported by robust demand across business travel, leisure holidays and experience-driven tourism.

The Group currently operates and develops 14 hotels comprising more than 3,100 rooms throughout the country. One of the most significant recent milestones has been the opening of the 352-room Radisson Blu Hotel Ha Long Bay, introducing the premium Radisson Blu brand to one of Vietnam’s most internationally recognized tourism destinations.

Overlooking the spectacular limestone formations and emerald waters of Ha Long Bay, the new hotel further strengthens the company’s presence within Vietnam’s growing leisure tourism sector.

Looking ahead, the company has also confirmed plans for the 182-room Radisson Hotel Westlake Hanoi, scheduled to open in 2028. Located beside the capital’s famous West Lake, the property will feature approximately 800 square meters of meeting and event facilities alongside a rooftop bar offering panoramic lake views.

These projects complement Radisson Hotel Group’s existing footprint in destinations including Danang, Cam Ranh, Phu Quoc and Hoi An, reinforcing its ambition to establish a stronger presence in both Vietnam’s major cities and resort destinations.

Philippines Expansion Accelerates Through Strong Partnerships

The Philippines continues to represent another cornerstone of Radisson Hotel Group’s regional growth ambitions.

Working closely with long-term partner SM Hotels and Conventions Corp. (SMHCC), the Group currently operates eight hotels offering 1,559 rooms while developing an additional 17 hotels comprising 3,762 rooms.

Its long-term objective is to introduce seven of its ten international hotel brands into the Philippine market by 2030, creating one of the country’s most diverse branded hospitality portfolios.

Among the latest additions are LIME Resort Bohol, operating under the Radisson Individuals Premier collection, marking the first Individuals Premier property in the Asia-Pacific region, together with Radisson RED Cebu Mandaue, introducing the Group’s lifestyle-focused RED brand to the country.

The development pipeline also includes several landmark projects expected to reshape the country’s hospitality landscape.

These include the 500-room dual-branded Radisson and Park Inn by Radisson at SM Mall of Asia in Metro Manila; the 138-room Radisson RED Mactan Cebu Resort; Fridays Boracay, A Radisson Collection Resort featuring 110 luxury rooms; the 558-room Radisson Crown Regency Grand Paradise Resort Bohol; and Radisson Blu Hotel and Residences Cagayan de Oro, incorporating 340 hotel rooms alongside 377 branded residences.

Together, these developments showcase the company’s commitment to expanding across multiple market segments, including luxury beachfront resorts, lifestyle hotels, urban mixed-use developments and branded residential projects.

Australasia and Pacific Portfolio Continues to Expand

Beyond Southeast Asia, Radisson Hotel Group is steadily broadening its footprint across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

Australia will welcome The Merchant Hotel Brisbane under the Radisson Individuals collection, while Melbourne will add Canterbury International Hotel Melbourne, further strengthening the brand’s urban presence.

New Zealand has also become an increasingly important growth market following the opening of the 322-room Radisson RED Auckland within the city’s Arts District. The lifestyle-focused property introduces creative social spaces alongside contemporary design.

Further expansion will continue with Radisson RED Hotel Queenstown, expected to open in late 2028 with 221 rooms overlooking Lake Wakatipu and the surrounding mountain landscape.

The Pacific Islands also feature prominently within the Group’s future plans.

Fiji will see the addition of Radisson Blu Mirage Resort Fiji Naisoso Island in 2027, while Mana Island Resort & Spa Fiji will undergo an extensive refurbishment before reopening under the Radisson Individuals brand.

Meanwhile, Samoa joins the portfolio through Return to Paradise Resort, a member of Radisson Individuals, where refurbishment plans will preserve the property’s authentic Samoan character while aligning operations with international hospitality standards.

Thailand Strengthens Its Position

Thailand continues to play an increasingly important role within Radisson Hotel Group’s regional strategy as international tourism rebounds and demand for premium accommodation continues to strengthen.

The Group has recently expanded its Thai portfolio through the opening of Radisson Blu Resort Phuket Mai Khao and Radisson Resort Phuket Layan, adding two high-profile resort properties in one of the country’s most important tourism destinations.

Future development will continue with the planned opening of Radisson Serviced Apartments Rawai Phuket in 2029. The 118-room project is designed specifically to meet growing demand for long-stay accommodation, reflecting changing travel patterns that increasingly favor extended holidays, remote working and lifestyle-focused tourism.

The continued investment highlights Thailand’s importance within the company’s long-term regional development plans and reinforces Phuket’s position as a leading international resort destination.

Indonesia Adds Another Strategic Development

Indonesia also remains firmly on Radisson Hotel Group’s development agenda.

The company has signed ANTA Hotel Bali Canggu, a member of Radisson Individuals, which is scheduled to introduce 116 serviced apartments in Bali’s highly sought-after Canggu district from 2027.

The project reflects continued investor confidence in Bali’s tourism industry while expanding the Group’s presence within Indonesia’s growing extended-stay accommodation sector.

Regional Portfolio Continues to Diversify

Across Southeast Asia and the Pacific, Radisson Hotel Group’s growing network now spans gateway cities, internationally recognized beach destinations, island resorts, mixed-use developments and branded residences.

The company’s diversified portfolio reflects an increasingly balanced regional platform capable of serving business travelers, holidaymakers, conference delegates, digital nomads and long-stay guests alike.

With tourism across Asia Pacific continuing to recover and governments investing heavily in aviation, infrastructure and destination development, Radisson Hotel Group appears well positioned to capitalize on sustained regional demand. The combination of carefully selected markets, flexible development models and strong local partnerships provides the Group with significant opportunities to strengthen its competitive position over the coming years. Its expansion strategy also illustrates how global hotel operators are increasingly focusing on quality growth rather than simply increasing property numbers, ensuring each new development complements local market conditions while supporting long-term commercial success. As new hotels continue to open across Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, Radisson Hotel Group is steadily building one of the region’s most comprehensive hospitality portfolios. Industry observers will undoubtedly be watching closely as these projects come to fruition, further reinforcing the company’s growing influence across one of the world’s most dynamic tourism regions.
