Sino-Pacific Trading (Thailand) imports and distributes nearly 100 leading global food, snack, and beverage brands, featuring a massive product lineup of household names that includes Ferrero Rocher and Nutella, Lindt, Ritter Sport, Hershey’s, Guylian, Chupa Chups, Mentos, Haribo, Fisherman’s Friend, Ricola, Storck, and Van Houten in chocolate and confectionery; Pringles, Loacker, Samyang, Glico, Lotte, Kellogg’s, Pepperidge Farm, Bertolli, Kikkoman, Tabasco, and McCormick among snacks, biscuits, and pantry groceries; and Evian and Volvic in the beverages category.

The transaction is another example of ORI’s Build–Operate–Exit–Reinvestment strategy, which focuses on developing quality hospitality assets, operating them to establish strong performance, and then transferring them to long-term investors before reinvesting the proceeds into new projects. This Thailand Hotel News report highlights how the company is successfully creating a sustainable cycle of investment designed to strengthen recurring income while expanding its presence across the hotel, office, and commercial property sectors. The latest sale provides ORI with more than Bt550 million in additional cash flow, allowing it to accelerate investment into future developments that support long-term growth.

Strategic Portfolio Rotation Continues

According to Mr. Peerapong Charoonek, Chief Executive Officer of Origin Property Public Company Limited, the sale of Staybridge Suites Bangkok Sukhumvit marks another successful step in the company’s hotel portfolio management programme. He explained that the acquisition by the Savetsomphob family reflects the growing appeal of well-performing hospitality assets and validates ORI’s disciplined investment strategy.

Mr. Peerapong said the company’s Build–Operate–Exit–Reinvestment model has been part of its long-term business vision from the beginning. By carefully developing premium hospitality projects, improving operational performance, and subsequently transferring assets to investors with a long-term outlook, ORI is able to generate attractive returns for shareholders while continually recycling capital into new investment opportunities.

Premium Extended-Stay Property in Prime Sukhumvit Location

Staybridge Suites Bangkok Sukhumvit officially opened in early 2023 as a premium hotel and serviced apartment operating under the internationally recognized Staybridge Suites brand from IHG Hotels & Resorts. The property offers 411 guestrooms and occupies a highly desirable location on Sukhumvit Soi 24, placing guests within easy reach of Bangkok’s leading business districts, shopping destinations, and transport connections.

The development was undertaken through a partnership between Origin Hotel Public Company Limited and Japan’s Nomura Real Estate Development Co., Ltd. (NRED). Designed primarily for long-stay guests, business travelers, expatriate executives, and international visitors, the hotel combines residential-style accommodation with the internationally recognized operating standards of IHG Hotels & Resorts.

Retail Component Adds Long-Term Value

In addition to its accommodation facilities, the project includes more than 5,000 square meters of retail space positioned at the front of the development. This commercial component serves both hotel guests and residents living in the surrounding Sukhumvit neighborhood, creating an active mixed-use environment throughout the day.

The retail area accommodates a variety of restaurants, cafés, and service outlets that enhance convenience while increasing the overall attractiveness and commercial value of the property. This combination of hospitality and retail has strengthened the project’s appeal to investors seeking assets capable of delivering multiple revenue streams over the long term.

Fresh Capital to Support Future Expansion

Mr. Peerapong said the proceeds from the sale will be reinvested into new projects as ORI continues expanding its recurring income businesses. The company remains committed to developing high-quality hotels while increasing investments in office buildings and commercial developments that provide stable long-term revenue.

The executive added that ORI’s cyclical asset management approach allows the company to continually refresh its portfolio, attract new investors, and create opportunities for sustainable growth across multiple real estate sectors.

Growing Hospitality Portfolio Remains Strong

Although Staybridge Suites Bangkok Sukhumvit has now changed ownership, Origin Hotels continues to operate an impressive hospitality portfolio. The company currently manages seven hotels comprising 1,093 rooms, with a combined value of approximately Bt3.9 billion. These include Holiday Inn Suites Sriracha, Holiday Inn Express Rayong, and ibis properties in Hua Hin and Krabi.

Development activity also continues across Thailand’s major tourism destinations, including Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai, and Pattaya, reflecting the company’s confidence in the long-term outlook for the country’s tourism and hospitality industries.

Beyond hotels, ORI is also expanding its recurring income business through office and commercial developments. The company is preparing to open Por Origin Complex Sanam Pao, offering approximately 32,200 square metres of office space, while its commercial division currently operates five Portobello Mall locations with a combined area of 17,425 square metres.

Positive Outlook for Hospitality Investment

The successful sale of Staybridge Suites Bangkok Sukhumvit highlights the continued strength of Thailand’s branded hotel investment market, where quality assets in prime locations continue attracting strong interest from experienced investors. For Origin Property, the transaction not only reinforces the effectiveness of its Build–Operate–Exit–Reinvestment strategy but also provides additional financial flexibility to pursue new opportunities across its hospitality, office, and commercial businesses. With a growing portfolio, disciplined investment approach, and continued expansion into recurring income assets, the company appears well positioned to capitalize on Thailand’s evolving real estate and tourism markets.
