The deal covers three immediate hotel developments—two in Bangkok and one in Phuket—with plans to expand into other high-demand tourist hotspots including Chiang Mai and Chonburi. Specifically, the partnership will see the launch of the 252-room Bangkok Marriott Sukhumvit Onnut, the 232-room Courtyard by Marriott Bangkok Sukhumvit Onnut, and the 255-room Moxy Phuket Chaofah. Altogether, these projects carry a combined value of around 8 billion baht. This Thailand Hotel News report confirms that the collaboration reflects the broader industry trend of strategic pairings between local expertise and global branding to deliver impactful, scalable, and differentiated hotel experiences.

Capitalizing on the Tourism Rebound

Mr. Peerapong Jaroon-ek, CEO of Origin Property, remarked that the global tourism recovery is fueling renewed demand in Thailand, which remains one of the top destinations for international travelers. He emphasized that Origin’s deep expertise in land development, coupled with Marriott’s unparalleled service standards and global recognition, will pave the way for properties that resonate strongly with evolving traveler preferences. He also added that this move is not just a business milestone, but a deliberate step toward helping shape the future of Thailand’s hospitality sector in alignment with tourism megatrends and guest behavior shifts.

Likewise, Mr. Chanchai Phansopha, CEO of Origin Hotel Public Company Limited, pointed out that regions like Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai, and Chonburi are consistently attracting business and leisure tourists. This makes them ideal locations for high-end developments. With Marriott International’s involvement—especially through globally established sub-brands such as Marriott, Courtyard, and Moxy—the Origin Hotel Group will be well positioned to tap into the lucrative premium traveler segment, gain direct access to Marriott Bonvoy’s 260 million-plus global members, and leverage an international distribution and marketing network.

Three Projects and a Bold Roadmap Ahead

The first two projects—the Bangkok Marriott Sukhumvit Onnut and Courtyard by Marriott Bangkok Sukhumvit Onnut—are already underway, with the recently announced Moxy Phuket Chaofah joining the portfolio to diversify offerings into the lifestyle hotel category. Collectively valued at over 8 billion baht, these projects signal the beginning of a much larger hotel roadmap. Both companies have already set sights on developing further properties in major tourist destinations, with a projected pipeline value exceeding 10 billion baht.

The dual strengths of Origin as a local development powerhouse and Marriott as a leading hotel operator with an impressive inventory of 9,700 hotels across 143 countries provide the perfect foundation for scalable, sustainable hospitality projects that can compete globally. The cooperation is expected to stimulate tourism-led economic activity and increase investor confidence in the Thai hospitality industry.

A Strong Signal of Global Confidence in Thailand’s Tourism Sector

According to Mr. Gautam Bhandari, Senior Vice President of Development for Marriott International Asia Pacific (excluding China), this partnership with Origin Hotel underscores the mutual confidence and strategic alignment between the two organizations. He stated that Marriott is proud to bring its iconic brands to key Thai cities through this collaboration, offering guests signature design, hospitality excellence, and full access to the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty ecosystem.

This high-profile partnership sends a strong message to the hospitality investment community—Thailand remains a fertile ground for growth, innovation, and international partnerships. With Origin Hotels’ ongoing expansion into management and operations, this collaboration serves as a launchpad to cement their presence on the international stage while attracting high-yield travelers and building trust among global stakeholders.

Backed by world-class branding, strategic site locations, and a laser focus on premium guest experiences, the newly formed Origin Hotel Group is expected to emerge as a formidable force in the Thai and regional hospitality sectors. These ventures also reflect Marriott’s long-term commitment to innovation, brand expansion, and market leadership across the Asia-Pacific region.
